Open for in-house lessons

Good morning!
Beginning Wednesday, July 1st lessons will be available, in-person, at my home studio. I will continue to offer lessons via online platforms for those who prefer this method. Please let me know your availability on Wednesdays and Thursdays – if you could give me two to three options that work for you, I can begin putting together a schedule. You are also welcome to use the Booking option on the FaceBook page (Whippleville Music Studio)

In effort to keep everyone safe and comfortable, I will be observing the following practices.

I will be scheduling 30 minutes between lesson slots – this is so that I am able to prepare for the next student entering. During this time, I will clean and disinfect all surfaces used by students (music stand, chair, piano, bench etc.)
I will be wearing a mask and students will be required to wear a mask.
I will maintain a safe social distance between myself and the student.
I request that only the student enter the home, with the exception of very young students or students needing a parent to accompany them.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to send me an email or give me a call. whipplevillemusic@gmail.com or (518) 319-4411
If Wednesday’s or Thursday’s do not work for your schedule, please let me know and I can try to figure out another option.
Thank you for your support!

Online lessons!

Suddenly, with COVID-19, we are all practicing safe social distancing and many of us are cooped up in our homes. Luckily, with technology we can still connect with people through many platforms such as Skype, Google, or Zoom. At Whippleville Music Studio, we’ve moved all of our private lessons to this online format. It has worked out very well; our students are still receiving the same one-on-one, tailored instruction. If you have any questions on how it works, please send us a message at whipplevillemusic@gmail.com

We’ve had many successful lessons on guitar, piano and mandolin. Please take a moment to view this sample Google Hangout lesson below.

COVID-19 and private music lessons

Good morning,

After much consideration I have decided to suspend my “in-house” private music lessons during this time of social distancing due to COVID-19. Without knowing exactly how long we are to be in isolation, in lieu of “in-house” lessons I will be offering private sessions through Skype. Many private music teachers through out the world use this platform for private lessons.

What you would need for a Skype music lesson.

  1. Laptop or tablet with forward facing camera
  2. Skype app and username
  3. Internet connectivity

My regular lesson schedule will be cleared to allow for scheduling of new Skype lessons. You may schedule a lesson using my Facebook page “book now” button OR you can always call (518) 319-4411 or email marjoriekelting@gmail.com

We will schedule a test Skype call before your lesson to make sure that all equipment is working properly and set up correctly. This will take 10-15 minutes. If you want to schedule a Skype call just to see what a lesson might look like, we could do that too – just call, email or message me and we’ll set it up.

Take care, stay healthy!

Marjorie
