Welcome to Whippleville Music Studio, a small private/group lesson studio located just outside Malone, NY. Marjorie Kelting has recently moved back to her home town of Malone, NY after spending 22 years on Long Island teaching music in the public school system.
Marjorie, a 1990 graduate of Franklin Academy, received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from SUNY Potsdam, Crane School of Music and her Master of Music in Theory and Composition from University of Northern Colorado. While in Crane, Marjorie studied trumpet with John Ellis, Gordon Mathie and Tim Hudson. Playing piano since the age of 6 years old, Marjorie has continued to study, perform and teach piano to musicians of all levels, from beginner to advanced.
As a public educator of 22 years on Long Island, Marjorie has taught band, orchestra, classroom music and chorus. Her most recent position offered the joy of teaching classroom music to students in grades K-5 and 4th and 5th grade chorus. Currently, Marjorie teaches elementary music in Malone Central School District.
Marjorie has had a private studio since she began her teaching career in 1996. Her specialties include trumpet, piano, mandolin and guitar. As a composer and songwriter, Marjorie also offers lessons in composition, songwriting, theory and electronic music.
